The MAPES Family Picnic and Lake Day is Saturday, August 15th, and will begin around 11:30AM at the Atlanta Recreation Camp (7110 Recreation Lane, Acworth, GA 30102). MAPES will provide the food, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages. Feel free to bring anything else you want to drink. Attendees are encouraged to bring their favorite side dish to share.
As the name suggests, this is a family-friendly event. Bring your spouse, kids, friends, and colleagues. There is a beach, a designated swimming area, a volleyball net, and a boat dock. If you choose to bring a boat or jet ski, please note that there is not a ramp at this facility. You would need to put in at a nearby boat ramp on Lake Allatoona.
