Metropolitan Atlanta Police Emerald Society HONOR GUARD The Metropolitan Atlanta Police Emerald Society (M.A.P.E.S.) Honor Guard was formed in 1997 by the Executive Board. The Guard was put in place to be a representation of the Society as a whole, and reports to the President of the Board. The M.A.P.E.S. Honor Guard is comprised of officers from various agencies throughout the metro Atlanta area, and is a direct reflection of the diversity of the Society. The Honor Guard is headed by the Honor Guard Sergeant who commands the Guard, and reports directly to the President and executive Board. The purpose of the Honor Guard is to represent M.A.P.E.S. at various events throughout the state. The events range from celebratory to the most somber of occasions. The types of events that the M.A.P.E.S. Honor Guard has attended are as follows:

The members of the Honor Guard are all highly dedicated individuals. None of them receives any type of compensation for being a member of the Guard. All members are volunteers, and take much pride in representing both their Departments and M.A.P.E.S. They all gain their satisfaction from knowing that they have put their best foot forward.
